The 14th Latin American Congress of Research in Psychotherapy of the SPR (Society for Psychotherpy Research) is a space in which psychotherapists and psychotherapy researchers come together to discuss new research, trends, practices and theories that serve as a tool to improve the psychotherapy in different contexts.
The SPR is an international, multidisciplinary scientific organization that supports the development of knowledge in psychotherapy by stimulating communication between researchers through its scientific meetings, conferences and publications.
The SPR Latin American Chapter was founded in 1992, and has sought to strengthen participation in Latin America by holding a Latin American congress every two years.
Psychologists, psychiatrists, social workers, psychotherapists, researchers and students of these disciplines, interested in psychotherapy and clinical psychology in all its approaches.
The works can be presented in the form of lectures, panels, structured discussions or posters. Likewise, you can apply to carry out activities under the modality of a workshop.
Free work: Refers to 20 minute presentations. The Scientific Committee will group a maximum of 3 presentations according to their theme and will designate a moderator.
Panels: should include 3 to 4 presentations focused on a common theme or several presentations from a larger research project. The panels will last 90 minutes with a minimum of 15 minutes for discussion. Each Panel should have a moderator (usually a panel organizer or other relevant person). If the Panel has 2 or 3 presentations it is expected to have a commenter offering a discussion about the presentations.
Structured discussions: It refers to a dialogue or reflective space by a group of experts on a specific topic.
Posters: In this modality, the works will be presented in posters that will be installed and exhibited at different moments of the congress, in which the authors will explain the content and the results to the attendees and the congress scientific committee.
Workshops: It is a 90-minute activity, the organizers of each workshop deliver clinical tools, theoretical knowledge, case discussions, research models, etc. in a format that invites and promotes the experiential and / or practical participation of the attendees.
* Presentation or conceptualization of case: They are space for presentation, discussion and case analysis. Refers to 20 minute presentations. The Scientific Committee will group a maximum of 4 presentations according to their theme.
