Rationale: Eating and nutritional disorders are important public health problems not only in high-income countries but also in low- and middle-income countries, such as Colombia, where the transition to chronic non-communicable diseases (CNCD) has also rapidly gained ground in recent years (WHO). Different policies and strategies focus on improving the diets of populations using nutritional labeling of food as a teaching and awareness mechanism, despite the constant difficulty in analyzing and recognizing local, regional and international regulations on labeling and nutrition labeling, the biggest drawbacks really are the critical reading of the components of the nutritional label, the legends or health declarations, the percentage of coverage of the daily reference values of a certain nutrient and the concrete application of the regulations, the bases of nutritional composition data and the respective simple mathematical calculations for the elaboration of effective and appropriate labels.

Last semester students and professionals in the area of food, nutrition, health and related careers, interested in knowing and acquiring knowledge about labeling and nutritional labeling of food and dietary supplements (SD).
