Intravenous (IV) therapy as we know it today is a highly specialized form of therapeutic, diagnostic and care treatment that provides a fast and effective way of not only administering medications, fluids, nutrition, and blood products, but also care. and advanced patient monitoring in hospital and outpatient settings. With the increase and advent of new drugs, drugs and innovative devices in recent years for the treatment of complex diseases, where infusion therapy is the central axis of specialized management of antibiotics, chemotherapy, biological therapies and hemodynamic support in critical care, renal and pediatric, makes people likewise subject to greater risk of drug interactions and adverse reactions. Therefore, the need to understand the correct method of administration, care and monitoring of intravenous administration not only of drugs, but of other therapies is intended to favor the achievement of therapeutic goals in the patient with maximum safety, minimizing pain and guaranteeing the greatest possible comfort. That is why intravenous therapy nursing is a highly specialized field that requires advanced clinical and technical training of nursing professionals who care for patients with infusion therapy, seeking the highest quality and safety for the benefit of the patient. This diploma seeks to venture into advanced training in nursing care that requires specialized training, for which it must acquire the theoretical and practical skills that allow it to lead nursing care related to intravenous therapy.
