Modality

The modality of the event is Face-to-face

The Internet and the different social networks that are provided through this medium have been occupying an increasingly leading place in the daily activities of all population groups. From children to the elderly, they invest more and more time in academic, leisure, interaction and social communication activities, with children and adolescents being two groups of special interest, due to the situations to which they are exposed and that imply greater accompaniment. of parents and caregivers for the prevention of problematic situations that are affecting their mental health and well-being.
.
When children and adolescents surf the Internet, they are exposed to a series of risks over which parents do not have direct control. The risks are various and are associated both with the content they may find, be it of a pornographic nature, child sexual abuse or publications that promote self-harm, as well as the contacts they establish online. As they sometimes do not really know who is on the other side of the screen, they can be victims of grooming, sextortion, cyberbullying and sexting, which are forms of blackmail, robbery or sexual harassment. .
.
As social networks become a communication and socialization tool prioritized by children and adolescents, they represent for parents and caregivers greater knowledge of their uses, scope, benefits and risks that allow an adequate orientation favoring their use, but at the same time limiting situations that may represent a risk or the materialization of damage in these population groups.
