Scholarship value and conditions
La beca otorga 6.000 doláres canadienses, que cubre transporte aéreo Medellín – Canadá (Montreal) – Medellín, transporte terrestre: Montreal – Rimouski – Montreal, hospedaje y 3.675 dólares canadienses que serán entregados al estudiante para sus gastos cada dos semanas.
El estudiante debe cubrir el seguro estudiantil.

Who can apply?
Podrán postularse estudiantes de la carrera (pregrado) en enfermería de la Universidad CES, que cuenten con un promedio acumulado durante todo su pregrado de mínimo 3.8, que hayan obtenido al menos la mitad de los créditos de sus estudios y estén al día en el requisito del segundo idioma, de acuerdo al semestre que esté cursando, que posean un nivel B2 certificado de inglés, si está realizando el curso con la Universidad CES, solicitar el certificado al centro de idiomas, si lo está realizando en otro instituto, y que deseen realizar una movilidad académica internacional en el segundo semestre del año 2020 en la Universidad de Québec Rimouski.

Purpose of the internship
El estudiante realizará actividades derivadas del proceso de investigación, bajo la tutoría de un docente investigador de la universidad de Rimouski, con reporte de avances a la coordinadora de investigación de la Facultad de Enfermería. El estudiante realizará un análisis de las políticas públicas para el abordaje de los cuidadores en Colombia y Canadá, y un artículo de revisión temática, sobre apoyo institucional que reciben los cuidadores en América Latina. El tiempo de dedicación es de siete horas diarias de lunes a viernes durante el tiempo de la pasantía (un total de 35 días de pasantía).

Commitments
El beneficiario de esta beca deberá realizar durante los meses de marzo, abril y mayo un seminario de investigación adicional, presentar de manera periódica y al finalizar la pasantía un informe a la Facultad de Enfermería y la oficina de Asuntos Globales, así mismo deberá presentar un informe al Comité de Asuntos Globales acerca del resultado de la pasantía, destacando los logros obtenidos en la misma. Adicional a ello, deberá realizar dos charlas motivacionales: 1. En la institución de destino para motivar a que las personas del extranjero vengan a la Universidad CES y, 2. Al regresar, para dar a conocer la experiencia a los estudiantes de la universidad y la facultad de Enfermería.

Applicant selection criteria

    1. Competences in English certified by the Language Center, if you are not taking the course at the U. CES, meet the second language requirement according to the semester you are studying or be studying at least level 11 of English with a proficiency in B2 , endorsed by the language institute of the CES University.
      Note: The student can also pay for the qualifying test with the CES University Language Center, at a cost of $ 30,000 COP.

    3. Have a cumulative average throughout their undergraduate degree of at least 3.8
    4. Having taken a research seminar 2, in addition, presenting everything done in research (participation in seedbeds, research with teachers, lectures) other than class products.
    5. Present two letters of recommendation from teachers of the program, on their attitudinal performance.
    6. Present in a brief of 500 words, where you state, why you want to do the research internship.
    7. In the event of a tie between several candidates, the student who demonstrates participation in a research hotbed or has worked in research projects of teachers or academic groups will be taken into account.

Selection process:

  1. Open call by the Office of Global Affairs: the call will be opened and each student will be responsible for applying directly.
    Note: Applications will not be accepted outside the indicated dates.
  2. Application in the form: For the application, the following must be completed form.
  3. The Office of Global Affairs introduces the Faculty of students who have applied for the scholarship.
  4. According to the academic level and attitude concept, the Faculty preselects five (5) candidates among all its applicants and notifies them in a document to the Office of Global Affairs, together with the accumulated academic average of the student throughout the undergraduate degree.
  5. Interview of the Office of Global Affairs, University Welfare and the Faculty of Nursing: the students preselected by the faculty, will have an interview in order to provide a report to the Global Affairs Committee, about the perception of each candidate.
  6. Choice by the faculty of the person to whom the scholarship will be awarded.
  7. The Faculty of Nursing and the Office of Global Affairs will notify the student chosen as the beneficiary and will formally deliver the scholarship to the student chosen as the beneficiary and the legal procedures to travel to Canada will begin.

With the purpose of encouraging academic mobility abroad, the Medina Family signed a Donation Act with the CES University since 2005, to benefit a student of the University's undergraduate Medicine, in order that said student can participate in an international mobility.

Requirements to be a recipient of the scholarship:
• Ser estudiante de pregrado de Medicina.
• Ser aceptado por una institución internacional para participar de una movilidad internacional.
• Tener un excelente rendimiento académico y actitudinal a lo largo de todo su pregrado.

Selection process:
1. Con base en el rendimiento académico y actitudinal de los estudiantes que estarán participando de una movilidad internacional, cada año el Consejo de la Facultad de Medicina, preselecciona 3 candidatos para ser beneficiaros de la beca y notifica el nombre de los mismos a la Oficina de Asuntos Globales, junto con la siguiente documentación:

• Letter of intent from the student addressed to the Medina Villegas Family
• Minutes in which the 3 shortlisted students are notified

2. The Faculty of Medicine nominates the 3 candidates to the Medina Family, together with their respective documentation.

3. The Medina Family, based on the documentation obtained from each student, decides which is the beneficiary student of the scholarship and notifies the name of the same to the Global Affairs Office.

Scholarship Features:

• The scholarship is awarded to one (1) single undergraduate Medicine student once a year.
• Students who participate in international mobility both during the first and second semesters of the year can be beneficiaries of the scholarship.
• The scholarship until 2014 provided financial support for the total value of one thousand American dollars (US $ 1,000). As of 2015, the scholarship provides financial support for the total value of one million (1,000,000) Colombian pesos.

Commitments of the student beneficiary of the scholarship:
• El becado debe presentar a la Universidad CES y al donante un reporte sobre los logros y estudios hechos durante el tiempo que estuvo participando de su movilidad internacional.

Commitments:

Call dates: June 9, 2021 to June 11, 2021

Scholarship Assignment Period:

  • Each candidate must register for the next formbetween June 9, 2021 and June 11, 2021. It should be borne in mind that for such participation the student must have the endorsement of his faculty to be able to make an exchange in the period 2021/2 (July to December)
  • In the week of June 13, 2021 to June 18, 2021, the pre-selection of enrolled students is made; that is: each faculty must choose one (1) only student who continues in the second stage that will be an interview, this week.
  • In the week of June 20, 2021 to June 25, 2021, the winning student will be announced.

Description of the scholarship:

The "Becas Iberoamérica. Santander Grado Colombia" is aimed at undergraduate students from Colombian universities who have completed at least half of the credits or passed the first two years of their studies.

Its purpose is to facilitate the follow-up of their studies during an academic semester at a participating university (attached list) in a country other than that of the university of origin.

  • The amount of the scholarship may be used to help defray the costs of tuition – if any, travel, travel insurance, food and accommodation.
  • The stay and studies at the University of Destino must be carried out in the second semester of 2021.
  • In any case, the beginning of the enjoyment of the Scholarships will always have to be before the end of December 2021.
  • The scholarship committee of the CES University, constituted by members of the institution will be in charge of selecting the student beneficiary of the scholarship.
  • The communication of the award of the scholarship will be notified directly to the beneficiary through email, parallel to communication before the Banco Santander – Universia.
  • The amount of the scholarship will be paid by the University of Origin to the selected student, once the University has received the corresponding payment from Banco Santander.

Requirements

  • They must be students enrolled in the CES University and pursue undergraduate studies, having obtained at least half of the credits or passed the first two years (semesters) of their studies.
  • The stay and studies at the destination university must be carried out in the period included in the second semester of the year 2021. In any case, the beginning of the enjoyment of the Scholarships will always have to be before the end of December 2021.
  • The insurance whose contracting is recommended to the beneficiary students will have the same duration of the Scholarship and must include, as a minimum, the coverage of: (i) death or permanent disability due to accident, (ii) transport or medical repatriation of deceased, injured or sick, (iii) medical and surgical expenses, hospitalization due to illness or accident and (iv) private civil liability.
  • Request a letter of acceptance from the University about the mobility to which the scholarship is applying.

Details of the support : one undergraduate and one graduate student will be selected, for a total of 2 beneficiaries of a grant corresponding to $ 3,000,000 COP (a single payment) for the duration of their exchange (the maximum time of support that is provides is for 6 months).

At all times, the beneficiary must show good academic performance and adequate behavior, conditions to maintain the benefit.

Follow-up: the beneficiaries of this support must submit a report to the Office of Global Affairs at the end of the internship.

In addition, they must carry out two motivational talks: 1. At the destination institution to motivate people from abroad to come to the CES University and, 2. Upon returning, to make the experience known to the university students .

Criteria to be able to apply for support: undergraduate and graduate students from any academic program of CES University, who have an accumulated average throughout their program of at least 3.8, who have completed at least half of their semesters and who wish to carry out an international exchange in an institution abroad; ideally it has an agreement with the CES University.

They must have the endorsement of their faculty and be clear about objectives, destination and institution / company where the exchange will take place.

Note: the exchange must be carried out in the semester immediately following the one in which the support is received. It will not be reserved for other semesters.

An academic semester is understood to be the one corresponding to the Colombian academic calendar (January-July and July-December), as well as the one corresponding to other countries (mostly from January to May and from September to December).

Assignment process for international exchange support:

Preselection by the academic program: each academic program preselects, according to the academic level and attitudinal concept, one (1) single candidate among all its applicants and notifies it in a minute to the Office of Global Affairs, along with the average Academic accumulated of the student during all the undergraduate and the position that he occupies within his program according to this average.

4. Interview of the Office of Global Affairs, University Welfare and the Office of Sustainability: the students shortlisted for each academic program, will have this interview in order to provide a report to the Scholarship Committee, about the perception of each candidate.

5. Election by the Scholarship Committee of the beneficiary and official communication: the Scholarship Committee will study each of the documents and the report presented, and will make the decision on the person to whom the support will be granted, once this The decision will be notified to the candidates.

6. The Office of Global Affairs will notify the student chosen as the recipient of the support. The process to receive it will be shared with you.

Scholarship value and conditions:

• The scholarship grants 800 EUROS per month for maintenance (5 months) and 1,500 EUROS for tickets; for a total of 5,500 EUROS.
