Trypan Blue

(in the process of accreditation under the NTC-ISO / IEC 17025 standard)

It is a test for the evaluation of the cytotoxicity of compounds, it is highly sensitive and is used mainly for its speed and low cost. It is used in preliminary tests for the evaluation of environmental pollutants, raw materials and in the development of new products.

 

Neutral Red

 

It is a test used for the evaluation of cytotoxicity. Historically it has been used to determine the IC50 necessary for genotoxicity tests and tests on experimental animals (LD50) required by regulatory entities in applications such as: drugs, food additives especially for children and pesticides, among others.

AMES test

(OECD 471)

This test is of vital importance in the evaluation of the genotoxicity of a compound, due to its high degree of sensitivity and its relationship with mutagenic processes, it uses a battery of bacterial strains as biological evaluation models and can be requested independently or in combination with other tests for the evaluation of substances that have different commercial purposes.

Chromosomal aberrations

(OECD 473)

This test recommended by regulatory entities such as the FDA and EFSA within their regulatory guidelines, allows evaluating the numerical and structural changes that may occur in chromosomes after exposing cells to a substance. It is widely used for the evaluation of finished product and / or raw materials to which the functional properties of the finished product are attributed.

 

Mutation in mammalian cells in vitro (using the thymidine kinase gene) (OECD 490) This test uses a mammalian cell line (L5178Y) that only has one functional copy of the thymidine kinase gene called TK.+/-, is recommended by regulatory entities, is widely used due to its high sensitivity and relationship with mutagenicity phenomena that cannot be evaluated in the "Ames Test"

 

Sister Chromatid Exchange (ICH) The Sister Chromatid Exchange test has been used to evaluate the effect of occupational exposure, countless drugs, and more recently the biocompatibility of some biomaterials, biopesticides, and agricultural products.

 

Single Cell Gel Electrophoresis - (Comet Assay)

The comet assay is a particularly valuable technique because it is applicable for all types of compounds since it allows the detection of intercellular differences in DNA damage and repair in any eukaryotic cell population. The result can be obtained in a short time and the cost is low compared to other techniques for the evaluation of genotoxicity.

 

This test is offered independently or in combination with cytotoxicity and / or genotoxicity tests which allows a comprehensive evaluation of a substance.

It is widely used for the evaluation of finished product and / or raw materials to which the functional properties of the finished product are attributed.

 

This test is offered independently or in combination with cytotoxicity and / or genotoxicity tests which allows a comprehensive evaluation of a substance.
