The Colombia Consortium is an organized group of 55 Higher Education Institutions for the acquisition of bibliographic resources and databases, and the CES University is part of it.
This is the result of a work of more than two years in which COLCIENCIAS, the Ministry of National Education, the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies, Colombian Association of Universities (ASCUN), CONSORTIA and 19 institutions of the country between public and private companies, contributed to the development of a methodology for the study.
The Consortium consists of the 55 Higher Education Institutions of Colombia organized to buy and acquire databases and electronic resources from five of the largest and main publishing houses of bibliographic information in the world, which are: Oxford, Taylor & Francis, Springer Nature, Elsevier, and Sage Publishing.
"The idea of acquiring these resources is to satisfy the academic training needs of the University's programs," said Nora Ledis Quiroz Gil, head of the Fundadores Library of the CES University.
Belonging to this Colombia Consortium gives students, teachers, employees and graduates access to more than 9,000 electronic books in the academic areas of the University and more than 80,000 magazines and journals.
The Consortium runs from January 2019 to December 31, 2019, with the opportunity to renew it for a longer period.
