The CES University Founders Library renewed its official website, which is available to all users of the university community from the first week of March 2021. It contains a renewed visual image and new virtual services that bring it closer to its users.
“The new library access website is an expression of innovation for education and service, framed in a process of digital transformation that the University has proposed. In addition, the change is significant due to the importance of innovating in the activities of accompaniment and strengthening of educational capacity ”, added Rubén Darío Manrique Hernández, director of Research and Innovation at the University.
Access to services such as bibliographic databases, the virtual catalog, the request for scientific articles, the RediCES institutional digital repository, training programming and ongoing training.
“In this new website we find the characteristic services of our library such as access to the database, catalog, training and courses. In addition to a renewed virtual catalog connected to Amazon and a real-time pop-up chat to answer basic questions about the operation of the library, ”said Nora Ledis Quiroz Gil, head of the Fundadores Library.
Another novelty has to do with the implementation of KOHA, a leading open source web application in libraries, for the administration of its collections and services, which allows active interaction with users, not only through the virtual catalog, but also through services such as reservation and renewal of bibliographic materials autonomously and intuitively.
