The XIX Institutional Research and Innovation Conference 2020 is the event in which the CES University, the CES Clinic and the Colombian Institute of Tropical Medicine (ICMT) show the progress and results they have had in research and innovation work carried out by students, teachers and professionals linked to these organizations.
In total, there are 155 studies that are presented on Wednesday, November 18, 2020; 125 are associated with research work and 30 with innovation. In the case of the CES University, all the faculties will have participation (122 works), as well as the Institution's Research and Innovation Directorate (9 works).
“By tradition 19 years ago the University has wanted to highlight, disseminate and exalt the activity of researchers to make it known. Due to the pandemic situation that overwhelms us, these days become more transcendent, since it opens the door for us to disseminate the results by virtual means to other universities, research centers and companies that can know first-hand what is being done”, Explained Rubén Darío Manrique Hernández, Director of Research and Innovation at CES University.
Some of the outstanding investigations that are presented are those that were carried out in 2020 to evaluate the mental health of health personnel in the context of the pandemic, or that focused on the national production of reagents for the diagnosis of the SARS-CoV virus -2, both advanced by the Research and Innovation Directorate.
On the ICMT side, works such as the development of a diagnostic test for the diagnosis of Leishmaniasis and a study of risk factors for mortality from COVID-19 in the municipality of Apartadó will be shown. The CES Clinic will also present research associated with the diagnosis of COVID-19 and surgical intervention.
