With the intention of knowing if leucine, amino acid, and whey protein, both dietary supplements, have a good effectiveness or efficacy in the body composition of an ordinary person, the teacher and student of the Master of Sports Nutrition from the Faculty of Nutrition and Dietetics of the CES University, Katherine Franco Hoyos, is conducting a study by the coordinator of the Master, Maximiliano Kammerer López.

This consists that after a work of 12 weeks of supplementation and strength training, changes in body composition will be compared, for this, DEXA will be used, an instrument that serves to more accurately assess body composition, that is, , the fat, muscle and bone mass of the participants.

It is a randomized study, that is, we will not know what the person is consuming before starting each exercise session. Some people will be given leucine, others will be given whey protein and others a mixture of these. They will be with that supply of supplementation during the 12 weeks plus strength exercises and we will see what changes are going to occur in each one, there may or may not be changes"Said coordinator Kammerer.

This study has as a sample 45 male adults between the ages of 20 and 40 who attend the gym at CES University.

Knowing a little about these dietary supplements and their way of acting on the muscular composition of the human being, and using the Dexa as an exact measuring instrument, are the most differentiating feature of this study, which is in its pilot stage.
