Our University signed an alliance with the Administrative Department of Disaster Risk Management, DAGRD, approximately 7 months ago, with the objective of attending to emergencies that occur in the city of Medellín.
For an excellent job with Module 123 Health, a few months ago, the Administrative Department of Disaster Risk Management DAGRD of Medellín, requested and assigned to the CES University the administration of the special unit of the official fire department (Module 123 Firefighters) , for its handling and management.
This DAGRD project's main objective is to attend to emergencies and disasters that occur in the city of Medellín and to contribute to the safety, well-being and quality of life of the inhabitants.
Our University is basically in charge of the management, administration, as well as, the dispatches and regulation of vehicles of the fire brigade before the needs of the community and later support with first responders, paramedics and / or agents of the health area.
“We are doing a very great social task with the community and the municipality of Medellín, this gives visibility to the University and a very strong relationship with the environment; additionally, it has generated very valuable information for other possibilities in other parts of the country ”, clarified Fernando Acosta Rodríguez, coordinator of the Continuing Education Area of the CES University School of Medicine.
