In the second semester of 2019, the Faculty of Psychology of the University opens the doors to the Master in Clinical Neuropsychology, a program that was born with all the quality seal of the CES University.

The Master's degree aims to train highly qualified clinical neuropsychologists for the evaluation, diagnosis and rehabilitation of neurodevelopmental disorders, neurological and neurodegenerative diseases such as dementias, cognitive disorders related to acquired brain damage, mental disorders. This is achieved through formal assessment of cognitive processes such as attention, memory, executive function, gnosis, praxis, language and thought and actively intervening in both functional and comprehensive neuropsychological habilitation / rehabilitation processes.

The Faculty already has extensive experience in the field of Neuropsychology, both in undergraduate and postgraduate training, in research, as well as in patient care at the CES Prado Clinic and at the IPS CES Sabaneta. This Master's is the product of all those years of experience.

"We hope to train clinical neuropsychologists with the participation of highly qualified teachers and clinical practices in different institutions in the city and thus contribute to qualify the service in Medellín and Colombia," said Marta Cecilia Gutierrez Restrepo, head of postgraduate courses at the Faculty of Psychology. Although it is a Master's degree in depth, participation in research projects with the groups and lines that support it is also expected.

Among the differentiating factors is the number of teaching-service agreements where students will be able to choose between many institutions to carry out their clinical neuropsychology practices with children, adolescents, adults and the elderly, and agreements with universities in the United States, Latin America and Europe. .

Registration begins from March 18 to July 12.
