The Faculty of Nutrition and Food Sciences of the CES University and CELAN signed an agreement with the objectives of implementing collaboration programs for the joint execution of academic, scientific and cultural projects in areas of mutual interest that enable training and improvement of human resources, the exchange of scientific and technological information, as well as the academic mobility of students in related programs, all of which for the benefit of the signatory parties.
CELAN is a research and academic training center in the area of nutritional health and they are at the forefront of scientific knowledge focused on nutrition.
The agreement was signed on November 13, 2019 at CES University, and the first beneficiaries will be the students of the first class of the Nutrition and Dietetics program who will take CELAN courses as electives. This will be the first of many other activities not only training, but also with the possibility of developing joint research and innovation.
"CELAN organizes activities that are aimed at nutrition and health professionals with a Latin American impact, therefore, the idea is to promote educational exchange between both institutions and achieve greater projection of the faculty in the country and in Latin America," said the Dra. Piedad Roldán Jaramillo, Dean of the Faculty of Nutrition and Food Sciences at CES University.
Around 40 students will be the first to benefit from the agreement, and about 150 are estimated annually. Not counting the strengthening of the continuing education proposals that will be done together.
The agreement was signed for 5 years with the possibility of extension and initially the courses will be virtual from the first semester of 2020.
