The Master's Degree in Epidemiology, postgraduate degree from the Public Health Division of the CES University of Medellín, received the Order of Higher Education and Public Faith "Luis López de Mesa" by the Ministry of National Education (MEN), this 11 of December 2019.
The Order of Higher Education and Public Faith "Luis López de Mesa" is an incentive that is granted to institutions and academic programs that voluntarily undergo an evaluation and accreditation process. It is delivered in a single category after a self-evaluation, external evaluation of academic peers and support before the National Accreditation Council (CNA).
"For the Faculty of Medicine, this recognition of the merits and achievements of the professors, researchers, students, graduates and other levels enhances the academic excellence of the program and encourages us to improve ourselves every day," said Dr. Hernán García Cardona, head of the Public Health Division of the CES University School of Medicine.
The Master in Epidemiology received the High Quality Accreditation for six (6) years by the MEN, through Resolution No. 018610 of December 3, 2018. It is the first accredited master's degree at the CES University and the third in Colombia to receive this recognition, which guarantees that the program meets the standards of quality, social, academic and research relevance.
Currently, the postgraduate studies researchers for the scientific development of new knowledge that respond to the needs of the country and the region, this by developing skills that allow them to bridge the gap between the knowledge generated and its application to improve the quality of life and population health.
