Isabel Chicha de Bedout, who is in the sixth semester of Veterinary Medicine and Zootechnics at CES University, together with Daniel Moreno, a Marketing student from Eafit, were the winners of the first place in the contest organized by the newspaper El Colombiano, the US Agency. .UU. For International Development (Usaid - for its acronym in English) and Adci / Voca.
The contest consisted of recounting the stories and narratives that take place in the territories of Antioquia in micro documentaries recorded with cell phones, highlighting the positive stories for the construction of collective memory.
Grandparents, as the short by Isabel and Daniel is titled, tells a 9-minute 45-second micro-story of the exploits of the doctor Bernardo Chicha Molina, grandfather of the CES student, who, from the comfort of a rocking chair, exhibits landscapes and a serenade improvised narrated his first steps as a doctor in the municipality of El Retiro, in the eastern subregion of Antioquia.
“We achieved what we wanted: to show my grandfather's story. Even when we were recording we realized that my grandfather was a friend of my partner's grandmother. It was worth all the time invested and not only because of the award, but because we received many nice comments from friends who saw the video, ”Isabel Chica told the newspaper El Colombiano after receiving the recognition.
On April 6, the names of the winners of the call were announced. The award was awarded after the evaluation of an expert jury and the vote of the newspaper's audience. In addition, the winners will receive an economic stimulus of 10 million pesos to the first place; the second 7 million pesos and the third place, 3 million pesos.
