The CES University carried out the first virtual recognition of the best projects of the Nineteenth edition of the 2020 Research and Innovation Conference. The initiatives honored received a certificate from the Institution's Research and Innovation Directorate.
At the end of 2020, a total of 320 projects were presented at the Conference, 263 related to research and 57 to innovation. Of this total, only 55 projects were recognized by the Research and Innovation Directorate in a ceremony held on February 11, on the official YouTube channel.
"We are at a time where research is part of innovation, today it is possible to advance from innovation to entrepreneurship. For this reason, the university has the doors open to undertake from the investigation ”, said Dr. Jorge Julián Osorio Gómez, rector of the CES University during the opening speech.
Some of the recognized investigations were: Fetal sex determination tests in maternal blood (GenomaCES); Technological model to optimize request for radiological studies (Faculty of Medicine); Vulnerability to HIV in trans women (Faculty of Nursing), among others.
Of the 55 initiatives, 44 correspond to Research, the remaining 15 to Innovation. Most of the University's faculties had 4-5 projects that stood out among the best rated. Studies from the CES Clinic and the Colombian Institute of Tropical Medicine (ICMT) GenomaCES were also presented.
“The university is a natural niche for the production, transformation and transfer of knowledge. Not surprisingly, the CES University has 90% of the research groups in Colciencias in categories such as Junior, Associate, Emeritus and Senior ”, stated Dr. Rubén Darío Manrique Hernández, Director of Research and Innovation.
