Ecology is the science that studies the relationships between organisms and their environment. It considers the diversity, distribution and abundance of living things, in terms of the interactions with biotic and abiotic elements. Seeks to understand the dynamics of ecosystems.
Our Ecology program is based on scientific, technical and humanistic training, related to the study, planning, research, management, conservation, advice, supervision and management of natural resources and the environmental conditions of ecosystems in order to contribute to the processes of social transformation.
Ecology professionals at CES University base their activity on the foundations of Colombian Environmental Policy, within an interdisciplinary dynamic.
We have a structured curriculum in five areas of knowledge: Ecology, Basic Sciences, Research, Sociohumanistics and Management. We offer various didactic and pedagogical strategies, such as laboratory and field practices, internships, magazine clubs and seminars, written work, workshops and master classes, among others.
Basic sciences and research are the basis for understanding biological phenomena and the relationships between organisms and the environment, enhancing capacities to know, value, conserve and take advantage of biodiversity.
The Human Sciences and the Management area train and motivate the Ecologist to envision and project their work through research and innovation. This, added to his academic qualification, allows him to be an integral person, committed to society and the environment.

of the applicant
If you are passionate about knowledge related to social and environmental commitment, the Ecology program is for you.
To start a new learning experience we offer you our seedbeds of applicants.
of the graduate
We train leading ecologists in the management of natural resources for social transformation processes.
To study Ecology you must be a person with the capacity for wonder, perseverance, sensitive, interested and passionate about knowledge, with social and environmental commitment, and a willingness for individual and team work.
We understand Ecology as the science that allows us to know and conserve ecosystems and take advantage of their resources. That is why we offer you the opportunity to develop a life project around Ecology, where you can recognize its different areas and identify the needs of the environment to carry out research.
You will find content related to: The earth, Colombian ecosystems, plants and animals, ecology and biogeography, conservation, ecology and society, among others.
This seedbed is for 10th and 11th grade students and recent high school graduates. Theoretical-practical work sessions are held at the CES University. This seedbed takes place twice a year.
If you want to be part of our seedbeds, contact (57) (4) 444 0555 Ext: 1240 or email email@example.com
The CES University Ecologist will be a professional with high academic and scientific standards, with an appropriate ethical attitude, sensitivity and social commitment, respectful of cultural, biological and environmental diversity. Knowledgeable of the fundamentals
basic theorists of Ecology and with skills in the different techniques and methodologies of contemporary Ecology with the ability to solve socio-environmental problems and for the creation of companies with a scientific and environmental base.

Area of Expertise
He has worked in different branches, which include, among other disciplines, taxonomy and systematics. His current interest is focused on understanding the effects, and documenting, assessing and teaching about natural history and biodiversity through basic and applied studies in Natural History, Urban Ecology, Transport Ecology and Linear Infrastructures, Biomimetics and Conservation.
Areas of experience
Ecology, conservation and management of wildlife, with a greater dedication to wild mammals. Currently I participate in courses that involve these topics, such as Conservation Biology, Population Ecology, Mammalogy and Environmental Management in the undergraduate programs of Ecology and Biology.
Areas of experience
Amphibians and reptiles, in which I have done work on taxonomy, biochemistry, ecology, reproductive ecology and the development of new technologies and methods for the study of these animals.
Areas of experience
I am interested in the interactions of abiotic environments (hydrosphere, atmosphere and lithosphere) with living organisms, especially the evolutionary phenomena that underlie said interaction. In addition, I find the ecosystem dynamics in urban centers and functional ecology attractive.
Areas of experience
Biologist with training in Plant Taxonomy. Cyclanthaceae family specialist. He has worked for more than 20 years as a researcher, consultant and teacher, Botanical Garden of Medellín and CES University.
Areas of experience
He has led the implementation of molecular techniques for the diagnosis of diseases caused by viruses and viroids in flower crops. Lines of interest: Molecular biology, plant biotechnology, in vitro propagation, secondary metabolites and bioeconomy.
What do they say about our programs?
“I chose the CES University because in addition to being one of the few universities that has an undergraduate degree in ecology, Before enrolling I made a seedbed and I realized the quality of teachers that the institution has and all the beautiful things that we have. offer ”.
We promote activities that impact and project scientific, social and environmental aspects. Plus
