We train professionals with a high-level research profile in the fields of epidemiology and biostatistics. Able to generate innovative knowledge through scientific research for interdisciplinary academic endeavors and with the purpose of improving the quality of life of the population.
We support their studies through our research groups and with a flexible and adaptable plan to the needs of the environment, profile and area of deepening of our students.
We have areas of deepening in:
• Epidemiology: Oriented to the development of knowledge of the identification, frequency and distribution of factors associated with health events, with the purpose of positively impacting the population's quality of life.
• Biostatistics: Its purpose is to generate knowledge in biostatistics through innovative methodologies to support the understanding of health phenomena.
• Population health: Area aimed at identifying differences in incidence, prevalence, morbidity, survival and mortality in populations according to their geographic context, sexual orientation or ethnic origin, among others.
• Bioengineering: From this area, research related to the use of biotechnological products in the rehabilitation and recovery of tissues, the use of biodevices in the diagnosis, control and monitoring of health events, can be approached from a population-level impact approach, among others. .
• Human body movement: With the aim of training at a high level to contribute to the advancement of knowledge aimed at maintaining and recovering human body movement from various strategies from the academic, clinical and social spheres.
• Nutrition and food: It is intended that the doctoral student undertake research that generates knowledge and propose solutions in processes related to human nutrition, food and dietetics.
• Demography: Tends to improve the health of populations through the study of historical trends, identification of causes and consequences of demographic behavior in social, economic and political contexts.
