The specialty of perfusion and extracorporeal circulation allows you to be able to solve the problems in the extracorporeal circulation of your patients, at the same time, become an integral part of the surgical team.
The program promotes the development of clinical, manual, technical and interpersonal skills; with effective communication and professionalism in the care of extremely ill patients with cardiovascular and surgical pathologies, which facilitates the management of the patient in association with other specialties.
During the development of the program, the specialist will be in permanent contact with the areas of clinical cardiology, coronary care, emergencies, cardiac rehabilitation, hemodynamics, electrophysiology, cardiovascular surgery and intensive care, which gives him great skills for interdisciplinary work in the knowledge of highly complex pathologies.
We developed our program in two academic semesters.
With subjects such as: basic sciences in perfusion and extracorporeal circulation, generalities, perfusion I, perfusion II, pediatric perfusion, seminar and research and artistic approach.

The applicant for the specialization in perfusion and extracorporeal circulation must be a person of integrity, with an academic background that includes clinical knowledge and manual dexterity,
that will allow him to develop his profession in an excellent way, in order to extrapolate his knowledge and skills to achieve an increasing improvement in his working protocols.
The specialization in perfusion and extracorporeal circulation is a postgraduate course that has more than 15 years of experience in the field. It has been characterized by training specialists in perfusion nationally and internationally; likewise, we have the highest standards of quality in education, which allows us a recognition of excellence at the Latin American level.
We train in the most complex institutions in the city.
We know and use the different circuits of extracorporeal circulation and each of its components.
We have full knowledge and handling of the different situations and procedures that occur during extracorporeal circulation.

Upon completion of the curriculum our residents must demonstrate mastery of a minimum of six competencies:
• Proper and effective care of the cardiovascular surgical patient.
• Appropriate clinical, pathophysiological, biomedical, and epidemiological knowledge and application of these skills for the benefit of the patient.
• Learning and evidence-based practice that improves knowledge and incorporates research and evaluation of its own patients.
• Interpersonal communication skills that lead to better information for patients and their families and the ability to interact with other health professionals
• Professionalism, which leads to the acquisition of responsibility, ethical principles and sensitivity in interacting with patients.
• Learning based on the correct practice of their specialty to achieve the proposed objectives and meet the requirements of the institutions of the health system where they work.
