It is characterized by its academic demand and by having a rotation field and a highly qualified teaching group that allows the resident to acquire all the theoretical and practical knowledge for his performance as a specialist in this area.

Among the program’s outstanding fields of rotation are the Pablo Tobón Uribe Hospital, the San Vicente University Hospital Foundation and the General Hospital of Medellín, institutions recognized for their quality care of pediatric patients. In addition, the program contemplates within its curriculum rotations abroad that allow the resident to have a wide and global vision of the specialty, specifically at the Colombian Institute of Tropical Medicine, Alexander von Humboldt, Lima, Peru, through the agreement with the Universidad Cayetano Heredia.
