Lazos is the University Social Management program, whose objective is to implement strategies that contribute to the creation of value through the generation of capacities, training and the integral human development of stakeholders. Through programs and projects we contribute to the sustainable development of society, implementing processes that generate benefits for society with inclusion and social equity.

Lines of action

Health and wellness ties

He focuses his work on the accompaniment to
communities at social risk to prevent disease, promote health and well-being. This strategy constitutes the integrating thread of different areas of knowledge and social management.

Knowledge ties

Its objective is the development of installed capacity in the territories, carrying out actions aimed at strengthening life skills and generating capacities among the population, thus contributing to the improvement of their community.

Volunteering

It promotes solidarity actions by the university community in favor of well-being and development in our areas of influence. We are convinced that this is a necessary way to contribute to the development of societies, since it is an exercise of organized social participation, which seeks to implement actions aimed at generating value and capacities for sustainable development.

Ties in Villa del Socorro

Among the main results of the year 2020 is the accompaniment in Commune 2 - Santa Cruz with the Lazos Social Management program.

This commune is the most densely populated in Medellín. In Villa del Socorro, 9 faculties were articulated with which 13 health and well-being activities were carried out, with a total of 2,310 participants; five volunteer activities, a total of 197 linked volunteers, 579 direct participants and 1,831 hours donated.

In the framework of the quarantine due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Lazos program managed $ 568,305,230 with the support of civil society and 25 related companies. With these resources, fortnightly markets were delivered to 923 families of street vendors in the center of Medellín and other municipalities in the Aburrá Valley, benefiting 3,939 people. In addition, the graduates were linked to this strategy by delivering 2,000 lunches to 62 homeless residents who are in preventive isolation at the Monsignor Valerio Jiménez home.

Ties that bring hope

With the aim of accompanying 900 street vendors and their families during the COVID-19 situation, we will deliver fortnightly markets until May 20, prioritizing the elderly and mothers head of the family. This campaign has been possible thanks to the people and companies that have decided to weave bonds of solidarity to stand alongside the most vulnerable.
